Marco Santambrogio, a former UIC student who has now a post-doc position at the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione of the Politecnico di Milano, edited a nice presentation video about the master that is now available on YouTube.
If you have any people involved in your thesis research, please indicate this to Lynn Thomas ASAP!
An example of having people involved in your work: tracking people’s eye movements as they read the screen content… that counts as having human subjects!
There are policies about the use of humans in research (yes, even non-medical) and there are forms that must be filled out for the Institutional Review Board.
Here are the deadlines for the students who plan to defend their thesis in May.
Notification of your intent to defend and the names of your UIC and Politecnico
advisors (the Politecnico faculty member who will travel to UIC and sit on your
defense committee) are due to Lynn by Jan 15th
Final thesis title (no changes can be made after this point) March 14th
Pre-defense copy of the thesis is due to Lynn and your UIC advisor (electronic
copy) by April 1st

Accredited Italian to English

email: md2401@mclink.it
There is a change in the procedure for applicants to the Spring 2008 semester.
The Admissions Dept of UIC will take applicants who have not yet completed the laurea, provided those transcripts arrive before the end of the first UIC term.
However, no application will go forward without a TOEFL score, so please communicate this to all applicants who plan to apply for the October 15th Spring 2008 semester deadline.
The slides of the presentations given by UIC professors on Monday, May 14th are available:
